Get Involved

People from all walks of life can help children through Variety by becoming a regular donor, attending an event, organizing a fundraising event, taking part in a personal challenge like a marathon or trek, leaving a bequest in their will or volunteering.

Donations support Variety’s ability to plan and fund our core programs and help us to meet the growing demand from individual children and their families for assistance.

You may dedicate funds for specific projects, such as Variety’s Butterfly Program. The donation amount is not important – every dollar is valuable and helps make a difference to a child.

Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly Giving

Monthly giving is the easiest and most reliable way to make your donations and serves as the backbone to Variety’s charitable programs. Our secure system will automatically initiate your donation on the same day each month allowing you the flexibility to spread your contribution throughout the year.

Gifts and services in-kind are a vital element in enabling Variety to meet its vision and mission. Gifts of auction and raffle prizes for events, business skills such as legal or accountancy advice or technology and office items are all necessary to successfully deliver Variety’s vision and mission.

Leave a Bequest

Leaving a bequest or legacy to Variety is one of the more personal ways you can support children. For some, it is an opportunity to make a gift you may not otherwise have been able to make. A bequest or legacy is an instruction within your will that reserves a part or all of your estate for a particular beneficiary. You can leave stocks and bonds, property, possessions and money.

To make a bequest or legacy to Variety, first make or update your will which will ensure your wishes are protected and implemented. You can review and update your will at any time. If you are unsure how to leave a bequest or legacy in your will, please speak to your solicitor or will provider who will be able to help. To include Variety’s details, please contact Variety - the Children’s Charity Hong Kong Limited.

Variety offers a wide range of opportunities for businesses to assist children, ranging from corporate volunteering, workplace giving programs to multi-faceted sponsor and partner programs.

Workplace Giving and Employee Matching

Workplace giving is a simple yet powerful way for employees to assist children. Once established, workplace giving provides the company, employees and Variety a low-cost, low-maintenance way to support children.

Some companies offer employee matching gift programs. These programs are designed to enable companies to match donations made by employees to Variety. Some companies match a financial contribution for volunteer hours, some contribute a match for an employee's financial donation, and others simply "match" the interest of their employees with a direct contribution. You just need to contact your employer for participation and requirements.

Sponsorship comes in many forms, from sponsoring fundraising materials, staff and supporter training, business supplies, advertising and marketing to sponsoring one of Variety’s events or corporate functions. Monetary donations and event underwriting, product donations, and volunteer opportunities for your employees each offer opportunities to highlight your corporate citizenship.

Cause-Related Marketing / Promotions

Cause-related marketing brings together the marketing objectives of a company and the objectives of Variety to form a mutually beneficial partnership. Cause-related marketing partnerships provide a unique selling point, engage staff and customers and brand equity while delivering a very real difference to children in your community. For Variety, cause-related marketing provides awareness of what Variety does, why Variety does it and the very real positive impact Variety’s work has on children, as well as raising vital funds to be able to help more children.
